No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa introduced him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover whatever he could about the game. Phil would tell his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the detrimental comments from others destroy his goal of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.

He began competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a normal thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed quite a few of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and a continuing love for the game of poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly humble about his success. He admits to making blunders in each game of poker and always aspires to get better.

Although Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a regular basis.
