No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?
Howard Lederer was born into in a family of five in which he enjoyed taking part in different card games when he was young. He discovered himself getting really aggressive in these card games as he was competing against his dad. After graduating from secondary school, Howard decided to put higher education on hold for a little bit and relocated to New York to compete in some serious chess. While competing in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s initial two years were tough as he played extensive hours and don’t win a majority of the time. He made some extra cash by being an runner for the poker players. He believed he could better his game by analyzing his life away from poker. He brought about an effort to get more sleep and focus attention even more on the game.
The real improvement in his abilities happened when he started playing at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the best players would regularly compete against one another. He was able to access some of the best minds in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would sharpen his logical thinking abilities. He applied these strategic ideas to the game of NL hold’em.
Howard also assisted his sibling Annie Duke master poker. Annie Duke was a great student of the game as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper decision. He told Annie Duke to move out to Las Vegas and compete in the WSOP competition. Annie is one of the strongest women players the poker world has ever seen. He moved to Vegas in 1993 and participated in cash games for the following 10 years. When the WPT grew in popularity, he decided to compete in more tournaments.
